What is Obesity?

Obesity is the accumulation of excess body fat to an extent that may have an adverse effect on health and activity. Typically having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher is linked with obesity. Obesity is a major risk factor for a number of chronic health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain types of cancer.

 

Causes:

  • Excessive intake of fatty and oily foods. An unhealthy diet that’s high in calories like fast food is also a culprit.
  • Lack of physical activity
  • Genetics
  • Anxiety, Stress & Depression: People tend to stay home and eat excess food with high calories.
  • Pregnancy 
  • Quitting Smoking: Normally people use food to cope with nicotine withdrawals.

 

Home Remedies:

  • Diet is your main weapon. 
    • What not to eat: Oily and Fatty Foods, Sweets, Fried or Deep-Fried Foods, Fast Foods, Cold Drinks, etc
    • What to eat: Fruits, Green Vegetables and Green Salad
  • Consume Tomato, Carrot, Beet, Broccoli, Cucumber, etc before a meal
  • Regular physical exercise or Yoga is one of the major ways you can overcome Obesity
  • Raddish, Salt, Lemon
    • Prepare ½ glass of Raddish juice
    • Mix a few pinches of salt or lemon juice to Raddish juice
    • Drink the mixture first thing in the morning (on an Empty Stomach)
  • Holy Basil & Honey
    • Prepare 2 grams of Holy Basil Leaves (Tulasi Patta) paste/juice
    • Mix equal amount of Honey
    • Consume the mixture every morning on an empty stomach
  • Consume 2 cloves of garlic in the morning and 2 in the evening regularly.
  • Make green salad a part of your diet.
